SNC-Lavalin International Inc.

In March 2008 MagMinerals received the results of a Final Feasibility Study for the 600,000 tonne per year Mengo Potash Project. In July 2006 MagMinerals contracted SNC Lavalin International Inc. to complete a Final Feasibility study (FFS) for a 600,000 tonnes per year potash plant. The FFS involved the coordination of final process design, selection of key process providers such the crystallization technology supplier, compaction plant vendor, a general contractor and a logistics company and other key vendor packages together with final social and environmental impact assessment and the determination of definitive capital and operating cost estimates. As noted above SLII completed the study and presented the results to MagMinerals in February 2008.

 

E+PC Engineering & Projects Company 

Engineering and Projects Company (E+PC ) is currently providing engineering services to the company. Included in the E+PC Team are AVEC of South Africa who was previously the Owner's Engineering representative during the FFS and Novopro of Canada who were also involved in the BFS when their main team players were part of the FFS contractors team.

 

E+PC is a South African company and part of the AVENG Group of companies that includes Grinaker-LTA Construction. AVENG Group is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
 

Consolidated Contractors International Company - General Contractor

Consolidated Contractors International Company S.A.L. ("CCC") assited SNC Lavalin International Inc. during the FFS by doing the estimates for the construction and erection of the plant. CCC, a top tier international contractor based in Athens, Greece, employs over 105,000 people in its worldwide operations and has completed numerous large-scale projects in many regions of the world including Africa.
 

HPD – Process Provider

MagMinerals has selected HPD to provide the design and key equipment for a brine concentration system and a multi-stage crystallization system to produce potassium chloride. HPD is a Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies company, which itself is a subsidiary of Veolia Water, the world leader in water services.

 

HPD has provided more than 675 installations in 30 countries. They were awarded the Mengo Potash Project because of their extensive experience in potash installations and expertise in crystallization process design for chemical production applications. For example HPD have been involved with the instillation of similar crystallization equipment at the Dead Sea Potash operations of Israel Chemicals. 
 

BNP-Paribas – Financial Advisor

MagMinerals appointed BNP Paribas as Financial Advisors to establish a debt financing package for the Mengo Project. BNP Paribas have excellent credentials to undertake this mandate and have already solicited significant interest from a consortium of international debt providers and export credit agencies. BNP are also assisting with the coordination of many of the required legal documents such as the potash marketing agreement with Ameropa.

 

Ameropa Ag – Product Offtaker

MagMinerals has signed a potash marketing agreement with Ameropa AG of Switzerland for the sale of 100% of the potash production from the Mengo Potash plant. Ameropa is a leading distributor of fertilizers and grains worldwide with an existing marketing infrastructure in Brazil.
